Here is another painting I'm currently working on. The first photo shows the original sketch on which the painting is based. The other two photos show the painting at successive stages of development. Once the painting process begins, I allow my intuition to dictate the development of the piece. Often, the paining will seem to take on a life of its own - definitely the case with this one. At such times, the painting tells me what it wants - its up to me to listen! This way of painting can be frustrating at times - sometimes your intuition is spot on and sometimes its not. But even when its not, you can always come back to the piece a day or two later and go at it again, using your previous "mistakes" as a springboard for even more effective, esthetically richer results.
As of this writing, this piece looks even different than in this last photo. This is one of the more experimental paintings I've done in a while and I look forward to sharing the stages of its growth with you...
